The CAT-Q measures self-reported social camouflaging in autistic and non-autistic people. It is not an autism diagnostic test, and this site assigns no diagnostic cutoff or probability. This site offers the questionnaire to adults aged 18 and over.
All 25 responses are scored from 1 to 7. Items 3, 12, 19, 22, and 24 are reverse scored. The total ranges from 25 to 175. Compensation: 9–63; Masking: 8–56; Assimilation: 8–56. Higher scores describe more self-reported camouflaging; the subscales have different lengths.
